There were NBL1 North wins for the Ipswich Force (two), Southern Districts Spartans, Townsville Heat, South West Metro Pirates, Sunshine Coast Phoenix and Logan Thunder.

Lamar Patterson had 43 points, 21 rebounds and 15 assists in two NBL1 North Ipswich Force wins while Adelaide 36ers NBL star Flynn Cameron lifted South West Metro Pirates to a first win, and Shaun Bruce had another triple double for Logan Thunder.

Logan Thunder (117) defeated Rockhampton Rockets (92)

Shaun Bruce had another triple double with Zac Triplett, Hunter Marks and Cal Dalton all along for the ride in Logan Thunder's 117-92 win over a Rockhampton Rockets team starting their road triple weekend.

Logan were back home at Bendigo Bank Cornubia Park Sports Centre attempting to rebound from last week's loss to the Sunshine Coast Phoenix while Rockhampton arrived for their first of three games this weekend after going down at home to the Northside Wizards.

Logan then went on to be leading by 10 points at both quarter and half-time, and they could never quite fully shake Rockhampton to three quarter-time even with Bruce already up to a triple double and 19 points each to Marks and Triplett.

But in the last quarter the Thunder asserted their dominance with 28 points to 16 on the way to the 25-point win to improve to 6-2 on the season with Rockhampton now 2-6 with two road matches this weekend to go.

Six Thunder players all ended up scoring in double figures and while he didn’t top score, Bruce controlled the evening with 17 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds.

Zac Triplett did top score with 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists with Hunter Marks adding 21 points, 10 boards, two assists and two blocks, and Cal Dalton 17 points and 12 rebounds on 7/11 field goal shooting.

Tom Howard added 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Tane Kirisome 10 points, and Tyrone Fui nine points and three assists.

Isaac Ayoubi top scored for the Rockets with 26 points, four assists and three rebounds with 6/9 three-point shooting while Jalen Graham added 23 points, eight boards, two assists and two steals.

Junior Madut also had 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals, Treauhn Williams 10 points, five boards and two assists, and Keahn Tuakura eight points, six rebounds and three assists.

SATURDAY

Brisbane Capitals (92) lost to Townsville Heat (110)

The Townsville Heat started their road double impressively beating the Brisbane Capitals 110-92 with Ethan Betts shining with 30 points and 11 assists.

The Capitals were back home at Auchenflower Stadium looking for a third consecutive win as they hosted a Townsville team playing their first of two games on the road this weekend and trying to avoid a third consecutive defeat.

Brisbane made a strong start to be leading 35-28 by the end of the first quarter before Townsville took charge in the second term with 28 points to 10 on the way to the 56-45 lead by half-time.

The Heat then delivered another 30 points to 19 in the third period on the way to leading by 25 points having gone on a 16-0 run before securing the eventual 18-point victory.

The win improves Townsville to a 3-5 record with Ethan Betts delivering 30 points, 11 assists, five rebounds and five steals with 11/17 field goal shooting along with 3/6 from downtown.

Nathaniel Pollard Jr also had 26 points, 18 rebounds, six blocks, four assists and two steals, Steven Richardson Jr 20 points, six boards and six assists, and Jalen Ward eight points.

Brisbane are now 6-4 following the loss with Brendan Teys putting up another 21 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Yohana Wal was into the team and delivered 24 points, 10 rebounds and three assists with Geordan Papacostas adding 11 points and 13 boards, Kai Bloom 10 points and three assists, and Ethan Taafe eight points and three assists.

South West Metro Pirates (122) defeated Rockhampton Rockets (111)

Flynn Cameron put on a show in his first appearance with the South West Metro Pirates with the Adelaide 36ers NBL star delivering 35 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists in the 122-111 win over the Rockhampton Rockets.

The Pirates were back home at Hibiscus Sports Stadium still hunting a first win of 2026 but they got quite the boost with NBL star Cameron on board fresh off the best season of his career where he was instrumental in getting the 36ers within seconds of winning the NBL26 championship.

They were hosting a Rockets team playing the second game of their road triple having lost to the Logan Thunder on Friday night with South West Metro starting on fire with 36 points to 28 in the opening quarter.

The lead for the Pirates got out to 13 points in the second quarter and they went into half-time on top 66-56 before that lead got out to as much as 16 in the second half before they got on the board in 2026 with the 11-point victory.

South West Metro are now 1-8 following the first win of 2026 with Cameron starring with 35 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists with 4/11 three-point shooting and going 13/13 at the free-throw line.

Deng Mayot added 17 points, three rebounds and three assists, Dominique Keyes 16 points and 11 boards, Harrison Huber 15 points, six assists and five rebounds, Tyrell Mason 12 points and three boards, and Jai Blackman nine points and three rebounds.

Rockhampton are now 2-7 with the second loss of the weekend with Jalen Graham delivering 38 points, nine rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocked shots.

Treauhn Williams also had 23 points, 17 rebounds, four assists and two blocks, Junior Madut 15 points, eight assists, six boards and two blocks, Jack Tweedy 15 points and three assists with 4/8 three-point shooting, and Isaac Ayoubi 13 points and seven rebounds.

Northside Wizards (80) lost to Sunshine Coast Phoenix (84)

The Northside Wizards scored the first 15 points and Quintin Dove had 41 by end of the night but Sunshine Coast Phoenix ended up continuing their form with the eventual 84-80 victory.

The Wizards were back home at Northside Indoor Sports Centre fresh off beating the Rockhampton Rockets but the Phoenix arrived in hot form on a four-game winning streak.

But it was Northside on their home floor with the stunning start with the game's first 15 points in the opening five minutes but eventually Sunshine Coast worked their way back into the contest.

The Wizards were still clinging to a five-point lead at half-time and a three-point advantage by three quarter-time before Sunshine Coast did put up 31 points in the fourth quarter to secure the four-point win despite 18 points in the last 10 minutes for Northside from Dove.

The win is a fifth in-a-row for the Phoenix as they improve to a 7-2 record with Nelson Kahler still to come back in while the Wizards slip to 3-6.

Considering the Phoenix conceded the first 15 points of the game, it was a strong win in the finish with Jamaal Robateau finishing with 20 points and three assists, and Darnell Robateau 17 points, five rebounds and four assists with 4/6 three-point shooting.

Earnest Ross might have only shot 5/15 for Sunshine Coast but ended up with 16 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and two assists with Erik Kafritsas adding 13 points, six boards and two assists, and DeShawn Ross-Paiwan nine points, two rebounds and two assists against his former team.

The Wizards will be disappointed to not capitalise on that hot start with what could have been a statement win but Quintin Dove still had a monster night with 41 points on 11/23 shooting from the floor, 5/14 from three-point territory and 14/15 at the foul line.

Tyler Williams also ended up with 13 points, four rebounds and two assists, Durrell McDonald eight points, 10 boards and eight assists, Jed Richardson seven points, 14 rebounds, two assists and two blocks, and Tyson Warren 13 boards to go with two points and two steals.

North Gold Coast Seahawks (74) lost to Ipswich Force (86)

Lamar Patterson put up 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists to lead the Ipswich Force to the 86-74 road win against the North Gold Coast Seahawks.

North Gold Coast were back home at Runaway Bay Indoor Stadium trying to record a second win of the season up against an Ipswich team starting their road double trying to build some momentum this season.

The Seahawks started well with 24 points to 20 in the first quarter before their lead got out to eight points in the second term before the Force hit back.

Ipswich ended up leading 42-41 by half-time before the Force put up 23 points to 13 in the third frame and then ended up leading by as much as 15 on the way to scoring the 12-point road win.

The win for Ipswich improves them to 4-4 on the season with Lamar Patterson putting up 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists with 4/9 three-point shooting.

Merrick Small added 17 points, nine rebounds and two assists, Sam McDaniel 15 points and three boards, and Lachlan Anderson 13 points and seven rebounds.

North Gold Coast are 1-7 having lost three straight with Zahn Agosta delivering 31 points, five steals, three rebounds and three assists.

Sean Murphy added 12 points, 13 rebounds and two assists, Jordan Schwalger eight points, seven boards and four blocks, and Conor O'Sullivan eight points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals.

SUNDAY

Southern Districts Spartans (117) defeated Townsville Heat (101)

Tamuri Wigness might have just missed a triple double but had a monster showing with 31 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists to lead the defending champion Southern Districts Spartans to the 117-101 win over the Townsville Heat.

Southern Districts came into the weekend in seventh position having lost their past couple as they hosted the visiting Townsville at Rowland Cowan Stadium.

The Heat were coming off a win the night before by 18 points over the Brisbane Capitals to start their road double while Southern Districts were playing their lone game of the weekend.

After the Heat had an early six-point lead, the Spartans took control to be leading by as much as seven points in the first term themselves, by 12 in the second, 21 in the third and 25 by the fourth on the way to the eventual 16-point defeat.

The win improves the Spartans to a 5-5 record as reigning champions with the Heat returning home having split their double header to now sit on a 3-6 record.

Southern Districts avoided a third straight defeat as defending champions and Grand Final MVP Tamuri Wigness was a huge reason for that just missing a triple double with 31 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists.

Troy Baxter Jr also had 24 points, seven rebounds, three steals, three blocks and two assists, Max Kerle 18 points and five boards, and Cameron Thew 11 points, 17 boards and two blocked shots.

Andre Ugrinic also had eight points, nine rebounds and three assists on 4/5 shooting, Ben Hastings seven points and four assists, and Griffin Biwer six points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots.

Townsville couldn’t quite make it a double win weekend on the road with Nathaniel Pollard Jr producing 23 points, 13 rebounds and three assists on 10/13 field goal shooting.

Steven Richardson Jr added 22 points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals, Richard Peachey 22 points, four boards, four steals and three assists, Max Norton 16 points on 5/11 three-point shooting, and Ethan Betts 10 points, 10 assists and four steals.

Ipswich Force (112) defeated Rockhampton Rockets (106)

The Rockhampton Rockets put up a good fight to wrap up their road triple header but it wasn’t quite enough with the Ipswich Force winning 112-106 on the back of 37 points from Lachlan Anderson and a triple double from Lamar Patterson.

Ipswich were back home at Ipswich Basketball Stadium fresh off beating the North Gold Coast Seahawks the night before with Rockhampton playing their third game on the road for the weekend having lost to the Logan Thunder on Friday by 20 points, and to the South West Metro Pirates by 11 on Saturday.

It was a flying start from the Force opening up a 12-point lead in the first quarter on the way to leading 33-26 by quarter-time.

It was then another 34 points to 27 in the second frame for Ipswich too and they went into the half-time interval leading 67-53.

Rockhampton were then determined to not return home winless from the weekend and completed a 19-0 scoring run in the third quarter to hit the front.

But Ipswich again responded with another 23 points to 19 in the final term on the way to the six-point victory to make it a double win weekend to improve to a 5-4 record.

On the back of his big game the night before, Lamar Patterson backed it up with a triple double for the Force with 19 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists.

Lachlan Anderson then hit 7/10 from downtown for 37 points, five rebounds and three assists with Sam McDaniel contributing 21 points, 10 boards and two assists, and Merrick Small 10 points and seven rebounds.

Rockhampton returns home with the three losses to now sit at 2-8 with Treauhn Williams finishing with 29 points, 12 rebounds and two assists on 11/16 field goal shooting.

Junior Madut added 17 points and four assists with 5/12 shooting from deep while Keahn Tuakura had 19 points and 16 rebounds, Isaac Ayoubi 15 points, eight boards, eight assists and seven steals, and Jack Tweedy 11 points and three assists.
