Christmas comes early for Castec Rural Pioneers

In exceptional news for the Castec Rural Pioneers the Club has resigned 24-year-old 198 cm star Nick Marshall.

Marshall continued to improve during the 2023 season with the Pioneers and proved to be a key player, averaging 22.26 points per game with a 49.34% success rate shooting from the field together with more than six rebounds per game.

He is a terrific athlete who can get up and finish at the rim, but it is as a scorer and shooter where he truly excels. His performances during the 2023 NBL1 season earned him recognition as the Pioneers’ Allan Scott Medal - Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the second consecutive season.

In the current NBL season, Marshall was elevated to a full roster spot with the Adelaide 36ers after two seasons as a development player and has now taken to the floor 42 times for the 36ers.

Marshall is an important signing for the Pioneers, and Head Coach Richard Hill is thrilled Nick is returning in 2024.

“It’s great to have our MVP from the last two seasons return for his fourth stint with the Pioneers.

It’s been exciting for all of us to watch Nick’s development, and I’m really looking forward to that continued growth.

Nick’s athleticism and versatility provides an extremely valuable X factor for us,” Hill said.
