In a rare double-header Wildcard game, the Sutherland Sharks hosted Basketball Australia’s Centre of Exellence. Check out how the games went below.
Women’s
Sutherland Sharks (52) def by Centre of Excellence (95)
The Sharks couldn’t get the ball rolling against the CoE as they shot 35 percent from the field and a painful 11.7 percent from the arc. Lauren Nicholson did all she could with 19 points, three assists and three rebounds.
Dallas Loughridge was the game’s highest scorer with 25 points and five assists, her CoE teammate Nyadiew Puoch added 18 points and 11 rebounds. The CoE’s season is over, they went 10-6 over a long and difficult road season against some of the best team’s the NBL1 has to offer,
Men’s
Sutherland Sharks (45) def by Centre of Excellence (105)
In the 60-point win, the CoE was outstanding against the sixth-seeded Sharks at home.
Tyrese Proctor stole the show with 20 points, five rebounds and five assists with multiple dazzling passes. While Alex Toohey had a game-high 23 points and nine rebounds. The Sharks struggled from the get-go, only scoring 22 points in the first half and shot an abysmal nine percent from three (2/21).
The CoE men’s only have one game left, against the Norths Bears on Sunday at 2:00 pm on Kayo Freebies.
