In some Monday night hoops action, the Women's Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence could not get the win over the undefeated Logan Thunder who beat the CoE 104-70.

Both teams had sore legs going into this one,  Logan played the fourth-seeded Northside Wizards on Friday and the Gold Coast Rollers on Sunday. While the CoE won two games against the NBL1 West Willetton Tigers and Joondalup Wolves on Thursday and Saturday respectively.

The story of the night was, as usual, Mikaela Ruef. She was just too big and too strong for the CoE as she scored at will, finishing the game with 34 points, 20 rebounds and eight assists. Indiah Bowyer had a productive 16 points against the similarly aged CoE side.

After a spectacular run over the past week in NBL1 West, Isobel Borlase was the star again for the CoE as he had 18 points and five rebounds against the 2021 NBL1 North championship side.

The CoE will face off against the 16-2 Southern District Spartans tomorrow at 6:00 pm AEST on Kayo Freebies.
