Starting their run through some of the toughest teams in the competition, Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence has beaten the second-placed Warwick Senators on the NBL1 West ladder 77-59 in the Tuesday night clash.
The stand-out was CoE’s Dallas Loughridge, with 12 points and four assists she set the tone on both ends, blocking shots and controlling the tempo to fluster the Senators' defence.
NBL1 West MVP contender Stacey Barr struggled mightily, shooting 2/17 from the field (11.7 percent). That poor shooting can be directly factored to CoE defensive star Nyadiew Puoch; the silver medallist with the Australian Gems was all over the court with her length and speed – she finished with a game-high 19 points with two blocks.
The CoE will stay West and face off against the third-placed Willetton Tigers on Thursday, and then on Saturday, they’ll face the 16-1 Joondalup Wolves. After, they will head up to Queensland to face the undefeated Logan Thunder on Monday and the 15-2 Southern District Spartans on Tuesday.
This may be the hardest road trip in NBL1 history, and you can watch it all live and free on Kayo Freebies.
