Basketball WA and the NBL1 West wish to advise that Saturday’s Round One clash between the Geraldton Buccaneers and Warwick Senators has been postponed due to an impending severe weather system.

The town of Geraldton is expected to be impacted by ex-tropical Cyclone Narelle as it moves down the west coast later this week and across the weekend. The Active West Stadium in Geraldton is on standby to be used as an evacuation centre by the Department of Fire & Emergency Services as a result.

The NBL1 West and Basketball WA values the health and safety of its participants above all else and has made the decision to postpone the game, with a view to rescheduling it at a later date. The wellbeing of our players, coaches, staff and the entire basketball community remain our highest priority.

We stand behind the Geraldton community as a whole and those in the northwest bracing for the impact of ex-tropical Cyclone Narelle.

An announcement on the rescheduled fixture between the Geraldton Buccaneers and Warwick Senators will be made in due course.
