Each week across the entire NBL1 there are countless games to watch. So here are three specific games from Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can watch to get your hoops fix and keep up to date with the biggest stories across the league this weekend!

Friday: (Women’s NBL1 South) Launceston Tornadoes vs Knox Raiders

Each year in the NBL1 the league is treated to one of the best sibling vs sibling battles, with Knox’s Alicia Froling vs Launceston’s Keely Froling.

Last season the twins both made the NBL1 South All-Star Five while Alicia took the conference MVP in a season where she switches her shooting hand.

Both battled once again this past WNBL season and the rivalry is just as feisty if not more than as the stars of each NBL1 team.

Saturday: (Men’s NBL1 Central) South Adelaide Panthers vs Forestville Eagles

The reigning NBL1 Central champions have started the season off hot with a 4-0 record going into Round 5.

The two key names for the Panthers have been breakout star Lloyd McVeigh, and the Defensive Player of the Year and Finals MVP Alex Starling – who has taken his offensive game to a new level this season.

Claiming in the pre-season that he’d take over as the led offensive player, Starling has most certainly backed that up with a conference-high of 29.5 points and hitting a game-winner in Round 4 to maintain their perfect start.

They will take on the 3-1 Forestville Eagles, who featured the Pnathers’ key signing Daniel Johnson last season.

He will face his former club for the first time as Maluth Machar, Adam Doyle and Greg Mays will be out for revenge.

Sunday: (Women’s NBL1 North) Logan Thunder vs Townsville Flames

The NBL1 North women’s Grand Final rematch will be filled with drama this weekend.

The Logan Thunder went on a historic 21-game win streak to enter the NBL1 North Grand Final Series, before losing 0-2 to the Townsville Flames’ superstar team of Steph Reid, Courtney Woods and Alanna Smith.

Smith just won the MVP of the Polish League while Woods is leading the Northside Wizards in their 4-0 start.

The Flames have retained Finals MVP Steph Reid and added her WNBL championship teammate Kate Gaze to form a dynamic duo.

The Logan Thunder have retained their core, including having a full season of 2021 Finals MVP Mikaela Cann and the core of Chevannah Paalvast, Ashley Taia and the soon returning Mikaela Ruef.
