The OneFortyOne Pioneers return to Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre on Friday night, hosting the Hobart Chargers in Round 6 of the NBL1 South season.
Mount Gambier enters the contest looking to return to the winners list following a tough couple of rounds. After starting the season with five consecutive wins the OneFortyOne Pioneers have lost their last 3 against quality opposition in Waverley, Knox & Sandringham. At home once again for another important matchup.
Hobart arrives with a 2–5 record to begin the season, but presents a dangerous offensive group capable of producing strong scoring performances. Despite their record, the Chargers have shown the ability to generate points through multiple contributors, making them a side that cannot be overlooked.
Sharna Thompson has been a standout performer, leading Hobart with 21.0 points per game. Her ability to create scoring opportunities and stretch the floor makes her a key focus for the Pioneers’ defence.
Tishara Morehouse provides further support, averaging 16.3 points per game while also contributing as a primary playmaker. Her ball control and ability to create for teammates adds another dimension to the Chargers’ offence.
Chloe Broomhall has been a consistent presence inside, leading the team on the boards with 8.9 rebounds per game while also contributing offensively. Alongside her, Tyia Singleton adds strength in the paint, giving Hobart a solid rebounding foundation.
For the OneFortyOne Pioneers, the focus will be on maintaining defensive pressure while continuing to execute offensively across four quarters. After showing resilience and composure in key moments earlier this season, Mount Gambier will be looking to return to this form into Friday night’s contest.
With both teams eager to secure an important result in the shape of their season, the matchup shapes as a strong opportunity for the Pioneers to protect home court and continue building on the teams early success in 2026.
