NBL1 South Grand Finals Draws 4,700+ Fans

More than 4,700 spectators packed the State Basketball Centre for the 2026 NBL1 South Grand Finals on Saturday night.

The home of Basketball Victoria looked incredible as four teams competed for the conference championships in front of a huge and energetic crowd.

Thank you to every fan who came out and created an incredible atmosphere throughout the two Grand Finals.

Congratulations to the Knox Raiders, who secured back to back Women’s Championships, and the Frankston Blues, who claimed their first NBL1 Championship.

The event was made possible by the efforts of many people behind the scenes.

NBL1 South thanks the team at Knox Basketball for staffing the venue throughout the night, Marc Selby and the team at Selby’s Signage, Troy Daniels and the team at Hoodz Entertainment, and Byron Dunkley Smith for bringing the event to life on the big screen.

Thank you also to Ruby Ladd, who performed the national anthem before both Grand Finals, along with the game day officials and the Basketball Victoria Leagues and Competitions team for their work throughout the event.

Both games looked outstanding on Kayo Freebies, thanks to Andrew McLeish and his team from Sportscast Australia.

Thank you to commentators Rob Coulter, Zoe Carr, Matt Hickey, Tom Hersz and Tyson Whelan for their work across the two championship games.

The NBL1 season now continues on the national stage, with the Knox Raiders, Frankston Blues and Waverley Falcons representing NBL1 South at the 2026 NBL1 National Finals at the Adelaide State Basketball Centre this weekend.
