Round eight of the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) tipped off over the weekend with the Miners picking up 5 wins.

The Ballarat Miners teams were faced with some tough competition in all grades this week which resulted in some hard-fought victories and some narrow defeats.

The Ballarat Miners U18 Boys 1 were able to continue their strong run of form defeating Diamond Valley by 32 points. Lucas Impey and Alex Molan lead the way on the scoring front with 19 & 15.

Our U16 Girls 1 hit the road to Pakenham to take on the Warriors in what was a close back and forth battle for the majority of the game until the Miners were able to break it open in the last out scoring Pakenham 25-6. Charlie McKinnon was outstanding for Ballarat top-scoring with 18 points.

Good luck to all our junior Miners playing this Friday as they look to make a strong push forward for the second half of the season!
