The Ballarat Miners Women are excited to announce the signing of Isabella Brancatisano for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 South Season.

Brancatisano joins the Miners after two interrupted seasons at Melbourne Tigers and prior to that five years with the Geelong Supercats.

Miners Women’s Head Coach David Herbert said “I am delighted that Isa has decided to play in Ballarat.  Isa is a very underrated player in the NBL1 while her statistics tell a different story.  An exceptional 3-point shooter and dangerous offensive rebounder Isa will add some real scoring punch for our roster.”

Herbert added “Having coached Isa previously is a great thing, it is like me having another set of eyes on the court who can help teach and preach our style of play.  Isa has grown into a leader that the Ballarat community will embrace”.

Brancatisano averaged 14.64 points, 3.35 assists, and 5.35 rebounds a game and has previously had stints in the WNBL with the West Coast Waves and the South East Queensland Stars.

Upon signing with the Miners Women Brancatisano said “Ballarat is a well-respected club throughout Australia with a good culture and I am looking forward to playing in the new stadium”.

Brancatisano added, “I am really excited to join the Miners this year, Herbie and I team up really well and I really enjoy playing under him.”

Senior Elite Teams Committee Member Lynly Doherty said “We are excited to have Isa join Ballarat. Isa’s work ethic and leadership have seen her achieve great success and we are looking forward to her building on that within our program. “

Brancatisano joins fellow signings of Kristy Rinaldi, Millie Cracknell, Annie Collins, Jade Melbourne, and Molly Mathews with more signings to come.

The Ballarat Miners will tip off the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 South season at Selkirk Stadium on Saturday, April 23 against regional rivals Geelong Supercats.
