The Ballarat Miners women have started the Coles Express NBL1 South season in great form sitting 7th on the ladder after a doubleheader weekend of wins over Melbourne Tigers and Waverley Falcons leaving them with five wins and just three losses.
Despite the good start to the season the Miners Women’s program has been looking to add additional depth to the team and is excited to announce the signing of Charlotte Brancatisano.
Charlotte is the younger sister of Isabella Brancatisano and joins the Miners after playing for Melbourne Tigers in 2021 averaging 30 minutes, 4.5 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.8 rebounds a game. Charlotte has been in constant contact with Head Coach David Herbert throughout the pre-season and start of the season but due to work commitments was unable to commit to the Miners until now.
Upon signing with the Miners Charlotte said "I'm excited to be back playing, especially alongside my sister and under Herbie and Kaleb. It's a fun team to be a part of and I am looking forward to seeing what we can achieve this season."
Herbert is pleased to have secured some more depth for the team saying “Charlotte brings a wealth of experience to our program. She adds smarts in the point and is an absolute relentless defender I can’t wait to see her in action for the Miners”
Ballarat Miners Women’s Committee Chair Lynly Doherty said “We are pleased to welcome Charlotte to the team adding to the depth of our existing group.”
Charlotte will suit up for the Miners this weekend when they travel to Keilor for the Coles Express NBL1 South Game of the Week.
Adding Charlotte comes at a good time as the Miners will be missing Jade Melbourne who is playing for the Australian Opals in Sydney over the weekend.
