The Joondalup Wolves have announced the re-signing of Matt Teale for the 2021 NBL1 West season.
Teale is a talented junior that has played in the WABL competition, the VJBL in Victoria and has represented WA at the National Championships.
Teale made his senior debut in the West Coast Classic in 2020 playing valuable minutes and even earned a career first start against Kalgoorlie.
“I'm excited to have re-signed with the Wolves for the 2021 season. I loved being part of the Wolfpack last year and learning from everyone around me. We have a great team and community here, and I can’t wait to see what we have in store for NBL1,” Teale said.
Wolves CEO and men's coach Andrew Summerville shared his thoughts on Teale re-signing with the Wolves for the 2021 NBL1 West season.
“Getting Matty back is important for our future," Summerville said.
"Matt did some good things for us last year and relished the opportunity that the WCC format gave him. Matt had a choice to make this offseason as he was offered a college scholarship in the USA, but due to the environment over there at the moment he has decided to stay with us.
"For his age Matt can really compete with the bigger older players in this league. He has a long way to go but if he keeps progressing at the rate he did last year then his future is bright. I look forward to watching him develop and I see him as a huge part of the next crop of Wolves to come through.”
Teale will be joining Lochlan Cummings, Seb Salinas, Reece Maxwell, Joel Vaiangina, Hamish Warden, Jordan Wellsteed, Jonathan Wade, Ben Ironmonger, Jacob Formosa, Robbie Huntington and Trian Iliadis on the Wolves' men’s 2021 roster.
