Lucas Walker returns to NBL1 with the Sutherland Sharks for the 2026 season

The Sutherland Sharks have announced the signing of veteran forward Lucas Walker for the 2026 NBL1 East season. 

Walker last appeared in NBL1 in the 2023 NBL1 East season, where he averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per outing.

He also won an NBL1 Championship in 2019 with the Nunawading Spectres in what was then a single national competition. 

A 20+ year veteran in the Australian basketball scene, Walker spent 10 years in the NBL between 2010 and 2020, winning a championship with the Perth Wildcats in 2017 and suiting up for the Sydney Kings, Cairns Taipans, Adelaide 36ers, and Melbourne Tigers/United throughout his tenure.
