Luca O'Brien Re-Signs for 2023

The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the return of combo guard Luca O’Brien for the 2023 NBL1 West season.

Luca’s determined attitude towards team success continues to provide results for the Wolfpack. A young leader who has great on court ability as a shifty ball handler with quick intellect and finishing ability around the rim. We look forward to watching Luca continue to elevate his game in the upcoming NBL1 West season!

Head coach David Morrell had this to say about Luca’s signing:

“Luca is the sort of young player and Wolves junior that you are thrilled to keep around. He was D-League captain last year and has some tremendous leadership qualities, which makes him a great addition to any squad. He works hard, he is extremely smart as a player, and he’s coachable. He’s a strong-bodied guard that can really defend and attack. As a young player, he’s a guy where it’s just about his growth trajectory and seeing how fast he can improve. I’m excited to keep working with him.”

When asked about his signing, Luca said:

“I am super grateful and excited to be playing under Coach David Morrell for The Wolfpack again this year. We built a really strong foundation last year with the new squad and coaching staff and I feel like we can only get better this year. The effort the team and coaches are putting in the offseason gives us confidence to achieve our goals, and I look forward to what the next season brings.

Luca joins CJ Turnage, Jonathan Wade, Bryan Michaels, Gabe Chadinha, Brody England, Jordan Wellsteed, Ben Geel, Archie Hall, Jermaine Malie and Eddie Maslic for the 2023 NBL1 West season.
