West Adelaide defended home court with a 73-70 victory over Woodville on Saturday at the Port Adelaide Recreation Centre.
The Bearcats dominated the glass, pulling down 56 rebounds to Woodville's 39, with Olivia Levicki leading the charge. Levicki posted a monster double-double with 25 points and 16 boards, shooting an efficient 65 percent from the field. West Adelaide established control early, building a 16-point lead at one stage. While they coughed up 25 turnovers, their work in the paint (46 points) and second-chance opportunities (11 points) proved decisive.
Despite the loss, Woodville's Jasmin Fejo put on a scoring clinic with 28 points, getting to the charity stripe 13 times and connecting on eight free throws. Fejo also dished four assists but committed seven turnovers. Genna Anderson added 14 points, all coming in the paint, while Woodville struggled from the field, shooting just 36 percent overall.
