Lakeside Lightning sign Women's NBL1 Coach

We are excited to announce that Lakeside has signed Kate Oeij as our Women’s Head Coach for the 2023 NBL1 Season.

 

Kate is well known throughout the Lakeside community as an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church. Kate connects and aligns with Lakeside’s mission and values as well as bringing an amazing passion, commitment and dedication for Lakeside & basketball to the women’s team. Kate is a former SBL player for Lakeside and learnt her trade as a coach at Lakeside. Kate was an integral part of the NBL1 Women’s team in 2022 and stepped up to be Head Coach in the second half of the season.

 

We are also excited to have Mike Malat joining the Women’s team as Associate Head Coach to assist Kate and provide additional expertise to the Women’s team.

 

A special thank you to Lightning Leadership Team for all of their efforts over the past few months to identify and build a strong coaching team for our Women’s team. Their thorough recommendation is fully supported and endorsed by the Lakeside Management Team.
