The Cairns Taipans have announced the signing of Lachlan Barker as a Nominated Replacement Player for NBL26.
Barker heads to the Taipans after a strong season in NBL1 South with the North West Thunder, where he averaged 18.5 points, 3.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
While the Thunder weren't able to make much of their season, finishing with a 5-16 record, Barker was continually impressive. His form recently earned him a place in the NBL1 South Select team which took on the Adelaide 36ers in Mount Gambier. He finished the game with 25 points.
Barker's June 21st performance against the Knox Raiders, who were the reigning National Champions at the time, was the highlight of his NBL1 South regular season. He finished the game with 29 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
