Knox triumphed over Waverley 91-79 on Tuesday night at the State Basketball Centre. The Raiders controlled the glass on their way to a commanding win despite trailing for much of the contest.
Knox dominated on the boards, outrebounding Waverley 41-37 with a substantial 18-10 advantage on the offensive glass. This translated into a decisive 11-4 edge in second-chance points. Rachel Bell came off the bench to provide a massive spark with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting and seven rebounds in just 21 minutes of action. Paige Bradley led all Knox scorers with 19 points, while Alicia Froling recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
For Waverley, Carley Ernst matched Bradley with 19 points including five triples and pulled down 11 boards to notch her own double-double. Ernst also dished seven assists in the loss. Rebecca Cole added 17 points in limited minutes, shooting an efficient 6-of-12 from the field and getting to the charity stripe consistently. The Falcons struggled with ball security, committing 16 turnovers which Knox converted into 14 points.
