KERYL OUSEY RE-SIGNED FOR NBL1 SOUTH 25

Keryl Ousey has re-signed and will return to Mount Gambier for the 2025 NBL1 South season. The Mount Gambier local will again join the OneFortyOne Pioneers following her season with the University of Guelph in Ontario Canada.
A Mount Gambier local has followed her ambition of development and study overseas whilst also competing at the NBL1 level.
In 2021 Keryl has part of the Pioneers Tradelink roster before joining the Sandringham Sabres in 2022 relocating to Melbourne for University.
Since then Keryl has made the most of her opportunities of College in Canada and returning to the Pioneers for NBL1 since 2023.
“I am Super happy to have Kez back, she’ll join us once her college commitments in Canada finish,” Head Coach Matt Sutton said.
In 2023, Ousey played a key role for the Pioneers, as back up forward using her size and versatility to contribute on both ends of the court. With every game, she continues to develop, gaining valuable experience at both the NBL1 level and abroad.
“Keryl had some really important games for us and is continuing to grow every time she hits the court,” Sutton added.
Beyond her on-court performance, Ousey’s basketball journey serves as an inspiration for young athletes in the region.
Her move to college basketball in Canada has paved the way for aspiring female hoopsters in Mount Gambier to explore opportunities beyond Australia.
“She’s setting a great example and paving the way for female hoopsters in our region to explore the college pathway,” Sutton said.
With Ousey returning for 2025, the OneFortyOne Pioneers continue to build a strong roster for the upcoming season. Fans can expect to set her make an impact once again when she returns to the Icehouse in 2025
