Perth Lynx WNBL star Kayla Steindl will take to the NBL1 West court next year, pledging her allegiance to the Joondalup Wolves.
This will be Steindl’s third consecutive season with the Wolves, after averaging 16.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in the 2020 West Coast Classic.
She explained how coach Charles Nix was a key reason in her returning to Joondalup.
“I am very excited for NBL1 West and I think Nixy will have our team ready to go. I wouldn’t play for any other coach…of course I will be back in green for 2021,” Steindl said.
“I am very excited to be back with the Wolfpack for 2021 as we continue to build on our success from last season. I think it’s a testament to Nixy’s program as he gets players to stick around year after year.
"The team is full of great people, the coaching staff are like family to me now and the club is very professional. It was an easy choice to make."
Nix shared his thoughts on Steindl re-signing for NBL1 West.
“We are all super excited to have Kayla back in green for the 2021 season," Nix said.
"She’s an outstanding person on and off court and has shown in her time at the club that she is an out and out star in this league.
"After re-joining the Lynx for the WNBL season just gone I feel that Kayla will again be a force to be reckoned with in the new NBL1. I’m looking forward to getting back to work with her and achieving some special things."
Steindl is currently playing for the Lynx in the 2020 WNBL season.
