Miller arrived in Ballarat on Monday afternoon and will attend his first-team training session tonight at the Minerdome.
Miller is a replacement import player for Shaquille Morris who due to unforeseen circumstances can no longer join the Ballarat Miners.
Miller is thrilled to be joining the Miners saying “I have heard many good things about the Miners and the organisation. I know I can come in make and an immediate impact on both ends of the floor.”
Miller added, “I am excited to be in Australia and particularly here is Ballarat and getting some wins on the court for the Miners.”
Ballarat Miners Men’s Head Coach Luke Sunderland said “After a long process we are excited to have JD join us for the remainder of the season. The team has been coming along nicely in the opening rounds and JD will complete our team and enable us to take the next step in our performances on court.”
Sunderland added “JD is coming in off a season in a great league in Germany which will hold him in good stead and we have no doubt he will hit the ground running and be able to make an immediate impact.”
Basketball Ballarat’s Senior Elite Teams Committee member Matt Sheehan said “JD is the last piece of the puzzle for the men’s program. He will bring size and strength that will complement an already solid big man rotation we have in place.”
Sheehan added “He will play hard, tough and hit the boards relentlessly and will quickly become a fan favourite with the way he plays. This will now provide us with the depth required in our roster as we continue the strong progress the boys have already made this season”.
Miller will be in action this Saturday night at Selkirk Stadium when the Miners take on Melbourne Tigers. The Women tip-off at 6:00pm and the Men at 8:00pm. Tickets can be purchased via TICKETEK
Miller will then back up on the doubleheader weekend when the Miners travel to Waverley on Sunday.
