The OneFortyOne Pioneers have received a tremendous boost with the current captain Jasmin Howe re-signing for the 2022 NBL1 South Season.
After two seasons impacted by COVID-19, the OneFortyOne Pioneers are excited about what Howe can achieve in the 2022 season.
Howe is a former Millicent Magic Junior who grew up watching the Castec Rural Pioneers Men's Team, which motivated her to return to the Limestone Coast and sign with the OneFortyOne Pioneers in 2020.
Howe was impressive during the COVID-19 shortened NBL1 South 2021 season averaging 41.5% field goal percentage and a very credible 17.69 points per game with 5.38 rebounds.
Head Coach Matt Sutton said it was fantastic that Jasmin has recommitted to the Pioneers.
"Having an experienced player from the South-East lead the group demonstrating to the young hoopsters in our community that there is a local pathway to elite basketball is crucial for us. Jazz was our top scorer in 2021 and is an elite shooter with a natural ability to stretch the floor, which is vital in today's game.
I look forward to getting to work with Jazz in preparation for our 2022 campaign," Sutton said.
The OneFortyOne Pioneers and the Castec Rural Pioneers will commence their 2022 NBL1 South campaigns in April 2022.
