Host of NBL1 talent included in U19 Gems selection squad camp

Eleven current and former NBL1 players have been named in the Australian Under-19 Gems selection squad camp.

Eleven current and former NBL1 players have been named in the Australian Under-19 Gems selection squad camp.
Current players include Lauren Wise (Launceston Tornadoes), Tayla Brazel (Sturt), Dallas Loughridge and Emily Sewell (Dandenong).
Loughridge in particular has been highly impressive, averaging 16.6 points in NBL1 South so far.
Former NBL1 players include Charlise Dunn (Knox), Olivia Pollerd, Jade Melbourne, Paige Price and Kelsey Rees (all Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence).
The final team for the 2021 FIBA Under-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup will be selected from this camp.
The 2021 FIBA Under-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup to be held in Hungary from 7-15 August.
In early May, Australia was drawn into Group A for the preliminary round stages of the global event alongside Egypt, Italy and the USA.
