The Ballarat Miners in partnership with the City of Ballarat have unveiled their new Heritage Round Uniform.
The City of Ballarat design uses the bespoke Ben Sanders Artwork (with the artist’s permission), which is on display in the Visitor Information Centre, to highlight some of Ballarat’s built and natural assets. It also includes the reference to the meaning of Ballarat from the local Aboriginal words, balla and arat, meaning a camping or 'resting place'.
The Miners will wear these jerseys this weekend against the Bendigo Braves for the NBL1 South’s nominated Heritage Round. Followed by a second time on Saturday, June 15th at home vs Dandenong. This will give our home fans a chance to see these fantastic jerseys up close.
Basketball Ballarat Partnerships & Marketing Manager Chris Thornton was excited to work in collaboration with the City of Ballarat to showcase our wonderful town and jersey.
“This uniform represents the stories, history and heritage that make our team/association and town unique. The strip celebrates the city and all those who call it their home, whilst aiming to solidify the connection between the team, players (past and present), and the city as a whole”.
