Hawks Ready to Bounce Back

Whenever basketball officially returns, Ringwood basketball will be ready to roll at all levels from domestic to NBL1.

Being in Victoria has been no picnic in 2020 for ballers, infact if you love to play Basketball, it has been about 7 months since you would have entered a Basketball stadium. So that's the bad news but as the daily COVID cases are coming down, our return to basketball is getting closer and Ringwood Basketball will be ready to go.

According to Hawks President Tim Mottin, the Ringwood Basketball Association will be ready to get Basketball fired up as soon as the Government gives Community indoor sport the nod.

"From junior domestic, to senior domestic, to VJBL, mid week ladies and even Big V and NBL1, we cannot wait to get our members back on court." Mottin said.

"Everyone is really missing the game and the on line video's and zooms are really losing their impact."

The Association still hopes to get some Basketball up and going before Christmas but like everyone else in Victoria, is unable to put any firm dates on the return date. Coaches Coordinator Jeremy O'Toole says that junior representative basketball tryouts are definately going to be a priority in the re start of Basketball.

" We are currently locking in our great Coaches and have opened up our VJBL tryouts registration for the new season." O'Toole said.

"Our hope is to get these done and dusted by Christmas but if that doesn't happene we are ready to go as soon as we can. I encourage all kids from Under 12 to Under 20 to jump on our website and register. It is free to tryout,"

The Ringwood Hawks Big V and NBL1 teams all had their seasons cancelled in 2020 and the disappointment was felt by everyone around the Club. All players have had to keep themselves fit and focussed over the year but they will soon (hopefully) hit the court and start to prepare for a season in 2021.

"Some of the senior guys and girls really took it hard when the season was cancelled." Hawks Men's Head Coach Ken Harrington said.

"But they have stayed in touch with each other and looked out for each other. I think it is an example of why our senior teams have enjoyed so much success over the last 10 years because the players and coaches really do care about each other."

Whenever Basketball officially returns and the stadiums are again open for business, rest assured that Ringwood Basketball is ready to roll. #TrueToRingwood.
