Hawks add Leary, Harris to NBL1 West roster

The Perry Lakes Hawks have announced the signings of Matthew Leary (men) and Beige Harris (women) for the 2021 NBL1 West season.

Leary played college basketball for Knox College and returned to Australia last year where he played for the Hawks in the West Coast Classic (WCC). He averaged 9.5 points for Perry Lakes last season and won silver at the U20 Australian Junior Championships.

Leary joins Ben Purser, Rob Cassir, Andrew Ferguson, Lewis Thomas, Ryan Smith, Cooper Hamilton, Bailey Cole, Mitch Clarke, AJ Nobensi and Harry Imison on the Hawks’ men’s roster for 2021.

Perry Lakes has also added Harris to their women’s roster. She has represented WA Country at the Australian Junior Championships in 2017 and 2018 and has previously played for the Kalamunda Eastern Suns and South West Slammers.

The club has also re-signed Talietha Valentine on their women's team.

Harris and Valentine join Annika Renkema, Nat Burton, Megan McKay, Maddy Dennis, Millie McCarthy, Morgan Ballantyne and Sarah Donovan on the Hawks’ women’s roster for 2021.
