Melbourne Tigers Head Coach Andrew Gaze has praised the impact Harry Froling had on the club during the NBL1 South 2025 season, reflecting on the big man’s contribution during the team’s run to the Grand Final.
Speaking during the NBL1 South 2026 Blitz, Gaze spoke warmly about the relationship built with Froling during his time at the Tigers, acknowledging both his on-court presence and the connections formed within the group.
“Last year we were blessed to have big Harry with us,” Gaze said.
“He’s gone to Dandenong this year, so when we play against Harry and the Rangers that’s going to be a fun game for us because we love him to death. He helped us get to the Grand Final last year.
“We develop those relationships. It’s not like we’re looking forward to playing him because we want to stick it up him. We’re looking forward to playing him because we love him and we’re very grateful for what he was able to do when he came and helped us out.”
Froling joins the Dandenong Rangers following a standout 2025 campaign with the Melbourne Tigers, where he established himself as one of the premier big men in the competition. The 211cm centre averaged 18.91 points, 11.23 rebounds and 3.27 assists per game, playing a key role in Melbourne’s push to the NBL1 South Grand Final.
The Tigers and Rangers are scheduled to meet on Sunday June 28 during the NBL1 South 2026 season, providing an opportunity for Froling to face his former teammates in what is set to be a memorable occasion for both clubs.
The NBL1 South 2026 season tips off on Friday 27th March 2026. For all the latest updates, including player signings, coaching appointments and league news, make sure you’re following NBL1 South on Facebook and Instagram.
