After a successful 2024 NBL1 Season with the North West Thunder, Sydney's Archie Woodhill was given an opportunity with reigning champions the Tasmania Jackjumpers and has thrived under Scott Roth in his time so far.
After a stint with the Sydney Kings the NSW local found himself out of an NBL contract but still hungry for the chance to get back to the top level of basketball in the country.
Looking for a spot in the Southern Conference landed him at the Thunder with Head Coach Sam Armstrong eager to get him up to speed and ready for the season ahead.
Leading the Penguin Blues to a championship in the NWBU was the perfect pre-season for Woodhill who then came into Thunder and immediately made an impact.
Averaging 11points and 6 rebounds across the season led to him being recognised as one of the up-and-coming big men in Australia and onto the Jackjumpers list.
North West Thunder Chairman James Leslie said "Archie came to us a little raw but with so much talent so to see him thriving and making it back to NBL was a dream result for us”.
“He's highly regarded in the locker room as a leader of culture and we love that he will be in the orange and black for Season 2025". Leslie said.
