The Warwick Senators have continued their strong start to the NBL1 West off-season, re-signing 2026 Grand Final MVP Chloe Forster on a new one-year deal.
The 23-year-old has been a staple for Warwick at NBL1 level since 2021, with last season being the third consecutive year Forster has averaged more than 19 points per game.
Memorably, Forster’s 2026 NBL1 West Grand Final heroics stunned the ladder-leading Cockburn Cougars.
She scored 34 points, one shy of her career-high, on 8-12 shooting, converting on four triples, and making Cockburn pay at the line, going 14 free throws without a miss.
The rising guard isn’t foreign to the spotlight, earning All-NBL1 West First Team honours in 2024 and 2025, and was attributed with the 2023 NBL1 West Youth Player of the Year Award.
Despite her youth, Forster’s leadership and consistency in the NBL1 saw recognition from Townsville Head Coach Shannon Seebohm.
Forster’s potential compelled the two-time WNBL title-winning coach to sign the West Australian youngster on a two-year deal, commencing in the WNBL26 Season.
With Forster part of the title-winning Fire squad in WNBL26, Seebohm told The Loop, presented by Blackmores, Forster could make the jump in WNBL27.
“Being a young player, she’s had a few stints in the WNBL as that ninth, 10th player off the bench, and we’re really looking for her to take that next step forward and have more confidence to run our team from the point guard position this year,” Seebohm said.
“She’s going to become a household name in this League.”
The WNBL27 Season marks Forster’s fourth in the WNBL.
She experienced limited action at the Perth Lynx in the WNBL23 and WNBL24 seasons prior to her current Townsville stint and is expected to make her return from a calf injury in Round 4.
The two-time NBL1 West champion joins Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard as WNBL talent representing the Senators in 2027.
The club will look to retain WNBL youngsters Kyana Weir and Kiara Waite as they try to defend their 2026 crown.
