NBL1 East:

Maitland Mustangs: Sydney Hunter

Mustangs’ Sydney Hunter played all roles on Saturday against the Hills Hornets, she recorded 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists.

The 24-year-old remained at ease with her five steals to ensure the Mustangs were taking the win. Hunter averages 16.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. In her 34-minute stint, Hunter led the team to their second win in a row.

Norths Bears: Brennan Rymer

That’s right, another Norths Bears men's player takes out the Player of the Week for the second time this season. Brennan Rymer top-scored by a mile on Saturday night against the Illawarra Hawks.

Rymer provided 37 points, 5 assists and 2 steals for the Bears in a 101-75 win at home.

NBL1 North:

Logan Thunder: Mikhaela Cann

Logan Thunder’s guard Mikhaela Cann was this week’s top pick with a double-double and top-scoring figures that aided in their 2-0 record in Round 5.

With 27 points in their first game against Red City Roar and 21 points in a nail-biting one-point win to North Gold Coast Seahawks, Cann’s performances over the weekend has now brought her season averages to 19.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.

Cann’s average stat line for Round 5 was 24 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists.

Logan Thunder: Majok Deng

Logan has managed to score both Foot Locker awards this week with another standout performance from Majok Deng.

Deng averaged an impressive 35.5 points, 10 rebounds and steals over Thunder’s two wins. Over the two games, Deng top-scored in both games with a combined 71 points.

In their 24-point win over Red City Roar, Deng was one-point away from a massive 40 points in a single game. He pulled down 11 rebounds for Logan and has led the squad to second on the ladder with a 5-1 record.

NBL1 South:

Launceston Tornadoes: Keely Froling

The Froling family continue to deliver key plays in the Australian Basketball world. Keely Froling earned herself the NBL1 South Player of the Week with a massive 38 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists for the Launceston Tornadoes.

Froling dropped basket after basket on Saturday night at the Tornadoes' home stadium. With two steals to add to her stat line against the Melbourne Tigers, Froling shot 66.7 percent from the field to top off her top-scoring run.

Sandringham Sabres: Dane Pineau

Proving he’s still a key piece in the NBL1, Dane Pineau starred for the Sabres over the weekend with 22 points, 19 rebounds and 78 percent from the field. 

Pineau’s rebounding was what the team needed on Saturday to secure a crucial win. His excellent shooting accuracy provided an opportunity for the Sabres to take out their 14-point win.

Willetton Tigers: Alexandra Sharp

Alex Sharp continues to provide dominance with the Tigers this season. In a healthy 47-point win over the Perth Redbacks, Sharp top-scored with 36 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists.

Sharp’s season average is 25.3 points, 14.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Sharp and the Tigers have won four straight games with a 5-1 record, sitting third on the ladder.

Joondalup Wolves: Quintin Dove

Wolves’ forward Quintin Dove was a key piece in the Joondalup team this weekend in NBL1 West. Over their two straight wins, Quintin averaged 28 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists.

Dove assisted in a 2-0 record over the weekend with his killer shooting and a double-double in Game 2. Dove’s average this season is 26 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

NBL1 Central:

Southern Tigers: Mollie McKendrick

Mollie McKendrick, a Tigers’ necessity this weekend led her team to an 83-61 victory at home knocking the North Adelaide Rockets off a two-game winning streak.

McKendrick showcased her versatility with 36 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to seal the 22-point win. The 30-year-old dominated the court with no breaks and a full 40-minute playing time.

McKendrick’s impressive 61.9 shooting percentage from the field on Saturday night’s win has increased her average stat line to 24.7 points, 11.4 rebounds and a 50 percent from the field.

West Adelaide Bearcats: Anthony Drmic

Recently signed to the NBL 's Tasmania JackJumpers, Anthony Drmic showed there is no stopping this basketball veteran from grabbing the ball and delivering.

In the Bearcats’ 117-91 win over the Eastern Mavericks, Drmic recorded 37 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists.
