Flames skipper Godfrey signs three year deal with Rockingham

The Rockingham Flames have re-signed men’s captain Ryan Godfrey for the next three NBL1 West seasons.

The Rockingham Flames have re-signed men’s captain Ryan Godfrey for the next three NBL1 West seasons.

Godfrey has spent his entire junior and senior career with the Flames and can’t wait to continue to grow the club and create a strong culture around the team moving forward.

“This three-year deal takes me to 33…I’ve been with the Flames since my first Flames camp when I was five,” Godfrey said via rockinghamflames.com.au.

“I wouldn’t say I’m ready to finish up just yet, I still feel as though I have a fair bit to offer so we shall see. I’m very grateful that coach Ryan Petrik and the Flames are happy to have me for another three years.

“In particular, what it means is I can continue to lay a foundation for future guys to come in and be a part of a phenomenal community, mentor those young guys who are willing to learn, and continue to be part of a community that is pretty special to me.”

In the 2020 West Coast Classic, Godfrey finished in the top three for the Flames in total points scored (149), points per game (14.9), assists per game (4.1), field goal attempts (113) and field goal makes (49).

He joins Jackson Hussey, Travis Durnin, Tom Jervis and Greg Hire on Rockingham’s 2021 NBL1 West roster.
