Round nine of the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) tipped off over the weekend with the Ballarat Miners having five victories.

Ballarat Miners teams were once again faced with some tough competition across all grades this week, resulting in teams having some well-fought wins and some narrow defeats.

The Ballarat Miners U16 Boys 1 we're home at Selkirk Stadium again to face Diamond Valley. The Miners were on from the tip-off and had 28 - 16 starting half. They were able to carry the momentum all game resulting in a 24 point win. Jackson Mclnerney led the way scoring 21 points.

Our U16 Girls 2 we're up against the Eltham Wildcats and we're looking to bounce back after a couple of tough losses. It was a very strong first & third quarter that set the girls up in which they were able to hold onto the lead and withstand a late fightback from Eltham, winning 52 - 47. Mia Ma led the way with 12 points.

Good luck to all our junior Miners playing this Friday night!
