The Lakeside Lightning have wasted no time building their men’s 2021 NBL1 West roster, signing Corey Shervill, Jay Bowie, Kyle Armour and Jack Isenbarger.
Shervill is currently a development player with the Perth Wildcats in NBL21 and will join Lakeside after his NBL commitments are completed. Shervill has played with the Lightning since 2016 and in last year’s West Coast Classic (WCC) he averaged 22.3 points per game.
Bowie is a three-time SBL All-Star and played for Lakeside in the WCC averaging 17 points and seven rebounds per game.
“We have a great group of guys on the team, and I’m looking forward to competing with them this year and building on what we accomplished last season,” Bowie said.
Armour is a 15-year veteran of the state league in Western Australia and will bring valuable leadership to the Lightning at the point guard position.
“It was very simple for me when making the decision to stay at Lakeside,” Armour said.
“The three factors which made it a no brainer for me were coach Dave Daniels, the team who are my close mates and the culture at the club. I am excited to build on what was a successful 2019 season.”
Isenbarger is a versatile guard and energetic athlete who brings a unique dimension to the Lightning’s squad. He averaged 18 points in the 2020 WCC.
“Jack is an incredible person and teammate with a very high basketball IQ and an unlimited range on his jump shot,” coach Daniels said.
“He has shown an amazing amount of resilience and hard work. I’m excited to see it pay off for him this season.”
