Emmett Naar joins Ballarat

Emmett Naar has joined the Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners for the remainder of the 2021 NBL1 South Season.

Naar has spent the past three seasons with the Illawarra Hawks in the NBL where he’ll continue following the season with Ballarat.

“It’s great, really looking forward to getting to work with the team, been here in Ballarat a few times and played here, it’s a great town and seems like they love basketball out here so I’m really excited.” Naar said.

Naar was looking forward to adding value and working with the local players.

“I’m not expecting to go out and play a full game Saturday Night, but I think it’ll just evolve as we fit together, I mean the guys have won three games in a row so they’ve got a good thing going so my job is just to keep that and not interrupt the flow.” Naar said.

Naar will live locally here in Ballarat and will be active in the community.

“Yeah everyone seems like great guys, I know a few guys on the team before but obviously only had one practice but everyone has been super nice and an easy transition.

The Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners and Selkirk Ballarat Rush hit the courts Saturday Night against Knox in the 2021 Indigenous Round at the Ballarat Sports Events Centre.
