The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of Ella Thornton-Elliott for the 2024 NBL1 West season.

Ella is a 20-year-old athletic combo guard who stretches the floor with perimeter shooting, whilst crashing the glass with force and giving her team valuable second chance opportunities. In the 2023 NBL1 West season, Ella recorded 5 or more rebounds 9 times in 20 total games played for the Eastern Suns.

Ella is a former WA State team junior and member of Deaf Basketball Australia, where she’s a current training team member for the Geckos. Ella has improved consistently throughout her NBL1 career, especially on defence with her speed and athleticism where she averaged 1.35 steals per game in 2023.

We look forward to watching Ella make an impact on the floor, with the Wolfpack in the 2024 NBL1 West season.

Women’s Head coach Jesse Pence had this to say about signing Ella:

“We are very pleased to have Ella join us as she has experience in the NBL1 West and plenty of upside. She also has the grit and determination that will be key factors in her development for years to come!”

Ella had this to say when asked about joining the Wolfpack:

“Joondalup is known for its electrifying game day atmosphere, and I can't wait to hit the court playing in front of the Wolfpack fans. The club's professionalism and the success of its program makes me super excited to be a part of it this year. I’m looking forward to working with Coach Jesse and the team and bring home a championship.”

Ella joins Darien Huff, Sarah Toeaina and Laniesha Paddon for the 2024 NBL1 West season. For more information on the upcoming season, please visit out NBL1 Website.
