East Perth outplayed Rockingham 87-70 on Friday night at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre, maintaining a commanding lead throughout the contest.
The Eagles dominated in the paint, scoring 46 points close to the basket compared to Rockingham's 18. Sasha Goodlett was unstoppable for East Perth, recording a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Awatea Leach contributed 15 points and grabbed nine boards, while the Eagles forced 18 turnovers and shot an impressive 42 percent from the field.
Despite the loss, Alexandra Sharp delivered a monster performance for Rockingham with 12 points and 22 rebounds, including eight offensive boards. Alexandra Ciabattoni and Emily Steven each added 16 points for the Flames, with Steven connecting on four triples from outside. Shani Amos dished out 10 assists in the losing effort, but Rockingham's 32 percent shooting proved costly.
