The Ballarat Miners Men are pleased to announce the re-signing of two players ahead of the 2024 Mitsubishi NBL1 South Season, with Amos Brooks (1 year) & Max Cody (2 years) both committing to the club.

Newly appointed Miners Head Coach, Luke Brennan, was pleased to lock away the pair saying “I’m very excited to have both Max and Amos back on board for the upcoming season. I believe both players are only just scratching the surface in terms of their development, and I can’t wait to see them both grow as the season progresses.”

Brennan added, “More importantly, Max and Amos are both quality humans and will be a great addition to the Miners and broader Ballarat community.”

Brooks, who has played all his junior career in Ballarat with domestic club Saints, as well as progressing through the Ballarat Representative Program & Youth League teams, said, “I am excited to be able to come back and be a part of the NBL1 program again. It is looking very good coming into the new season with some promising and new opportunities lying ahead, both personally and for the team as a whole.”

Cody, who has signed on for the next two seasons and is returning for his second season in Ballarat, said “I’m extremely happy to be re-signing with the Miners for the next two years. Last season didn’t go as planned individually or as a team so I’m excited to make amends for that with this amazing club and our fantastic supporters.”

Senior Elite Teams committee member, Matt Sheehan said “It’s great to have Max back on board with the Miners for another 2 years.  With Max injured for majority of last year, he’s been working hard in the gym in the off-season and I know he has a bit of a point to prove so we are really looking forward to see what he can do fully fit. Max is a great team man which is another reason why we wanted Max back again.”

Sheehan added, “Another great signing for the Miners, with one of our local men Amos agreeing to play again next season.  Part of the reason with having an NBL1 program is so our local boys and girls can strive to play basketball at the highest level possible and to see Amos being in the program for a number of years is a testament to our junior program “

The Miners NBL1 South season is due to start on April 3rd with a home game against arch-rivals Bendigo, memberships remain on sale at the early bird discount off of 15% off for a limited time only, to purchase click here.
