It was great to support Central Highlands Water today by presenting Maryborough with Squirtle the Giant Turtle and it's new home as part of our Community Partnership.
Selkirk Ballarat Rush player Millie Cracknell presented about about sport and the Choose Tap program. The program not only promotes the health benefits of drinking water within the community, but also the environmental benefits of drinking tap water over buying bottled water when you exercise.
"I am pleased to be a Central Highlands Water’s ambassador for the Choose Tap program and to be here in Maryborough today for the launch of Giant Turtle playground equipment with the Central Goldfields Shire Council and the Maryborough community." Cracknell said.
Basketball Ballarat supported Squirtle at the 2019 Ballarat Begonia Festival (City of Ballarat), where the giant turtle shell held single-use plastic bottle waste, collected by school children in our region, representing the weight and stress placed on the environment.
