The Ballarat Miners are pleased to announce the re-signing of local Millie Cracknell for the 2023 NBL1 South Season.
Cracknell returns for her fifth year at the top level having begun with the senior Miners in 2019 and having played 41 games, with no games and limited games in 2020 and 2021.
Cracknell averaged 17 mins, 5 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist a game in 2022.
Ballarat Miners Women’s Head Coach Rob Baker is pleased to see Cracknell return saying “Millie has been constantly improving and developing through the past three seasons since progressing through the junior program and is entering her third full season with the senior team.”
Baker added “Millie has spent time across our Youth League and the Senior teams and is ready to take the next step as an important role player for the senior program. She has had a consistent offseason, and is a regular in the gym, preparing herself for a full season of senior basketball.”
Cracknell never looked like leaving the Miners saying “Ultimately Ballarat is home for me, I’ve played all of my junior years here, and the constant support from the club for locals such as myself along with the support of the community has made it a no brainer to return to the Ballarat Miners.”
Cracknell added further to her reasonings for re-signing saying” The appointment of Rob as Coach was also a key reason for returning this season as he will be a huge asset to the association, and I’m also very excited to be playing with Abbey Wehrung who used to coach me as a junior.”
Ballarat Miners Elite Teams Committee Member Lynly Doherty said, “It is great to have Millie return for 2023, having been a part of our pathway from under 12’s through to a full senior roster position Millie continues to show what can be achieved through dedication and hard work”.
Cracknell joins Abbey Wehrung as the current announced signing for the Ballarat Miners Women’s 2023 side with more announcements to be made before the NBL1 South season starts on Saturday, April 1st.
