The Coles Express NBL1 continues to build traditions, with teams set to honour Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women throughout ANZAC Round this weekend.
Tipping off on Thursday night with Ringwood and Kilsyth going head-to-head in NBL1 South, NBL1 clubs around the country will be honouring Australian and New Zealand troops past and present.
The Last Post will ring around the country before games, tin rattlers will be raising funds for current veterans and some clubs will be wearing specially designed uniforms.
NBL1 General Manager Dean Anglin said it was a special round for the League and the clubs.
“We are privileged to be able to recognise Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women through sport, those who paved the way for us to have the freedom that we do today,” he said.
“NBL1 clubs did a great job of this last year, so we expect this year to be bigger and better, with 12 games being played across the country on ANZAC Day itself.”
All ANZAC Round games will be streamed live and free on NBL1.com.au and the brand new NBL1 App, with Games of the Week shown live, free and exclusively on Kayo Freebies.
NBL1 fans are also encouraged to attend games where possible to support their local community and honour Australian and New Zealand troops in the best way possible.
We will remember them. Lest we forget.
