The Newcastle Falcons dominated the Sydney Flames 83-51 on Saturday at Newcastle Basketball Stadium, securing a commanding 32-point victory.
Newcastle's powerhouse performance was fueled by a rebounding clinic, outworking Sydney 56-43 on the boards with a massive 26-11 advantage on the offensive glass. Meg Jefferson led the charge with a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Nicole Munger filled the stat sheet with 18 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. The Falcons' ball movement was exceptional with 20 assists compared to Sydney's 11, and they took full advantage from the charity stripe, hitting 17-of-21 free throws.
The Flames struggled to find any rhythm, connecting on just 26 percent of their field goal attempts and turning the ball over 25 times. Abigail Curtin worked hard for her team-high 17 points but shot just 5-of-21 from the field. Piper Anderson provided a spark from outside, knocking down four triples on her way to 16 points, but Sydney's 10 points in the paint highlighted their offensive struggles against Newcastle's interior defense.

**SYDNEY FLAMES 51 (Abigail Curtin 17, Piper Anderson 16, Mikayla Pirini 8).**
