Bendigo defeated Keilor 87-71 on Saturday evening at Red Energy Arena Bendigo. The home side took control with a balanced attack that saw them lead for over 37 minutes of game time.
The Bendigo squad showcased their shooting touch from the perimeter, connecting on 11 triples at 34 percent compared to Keilor's five makes from downtown. Lual Diing led the charge with 21 points including five triples, while Justin Johnson added 19 points with a perfect 9-for-9 showing from the charity stripe. Charles Matthews provided a spark off the bench with 18 points including three makes from outside. The Bendigo defence was particularly disruptive, forcing 17 turnovers and converting them into 18 points.
Keilor's Deng Dut matched Diing with 21 points but struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 1-of-7 attempts. Daniel Foster recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards, including five offensive rebounds. Despite winning the battle of the boards 46-36 and scoring more points in the paint (42-34), Keilor couldn't overcome Bendigo's balanced attack.
