The Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners and Selkirk Ballarat Rush have unveiled their new City Edition uniforms supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The design takes inspiration from Ballarat’s architectural icons featuring key landmarks and buildings across the city such as the clock towers, town hall and contemporary buildings like GovHub. The dark navy is showcased as the primary colour on the uniforms, with the bold Ballarat wording across the front designed to show a sign of togetherness after what has been a challenging eighteen months for the community in light of the current pandemic.

Sovereign Hill Museums Association continued their support of the City Edition Uniforms, in consultation with the Miners Rush through designing the jerseys for a second time since the inaugural 2019 edition.

Chief Development Officer for Sovereign Hill Museums Association, Will Flamsteed was proud to continue supporting the initiative.

“The past 18 months have been an immensely challenging period for Ballarat with so many people doing it tough. As a community founded and focussed organisation Sovereign Hill Museums Association is delighted to come together and work with other community organisations like Ballarat Basketball, who play such an important health and wellbeing role through community sport.”

“As a not-for-profit organisation that is passionate about the success and wellbeing of the people and businesses within our community, Sovereign Hill Museums Association is proud to support other local not-for-profits like Ballarat Basketball.” Flamsteed said.

The teams will don these jerseys for all remaining home games of the Coles Express NBL1 South Season at the Ballarat Sports Events Centre, when the season recommences at a time yet to be determined.

The player issue uniforms will also be auctioned online, with proceeds going directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Amira Willingham of Hotondo Homes Ballarat was thankful for the support provided to the foundation

“Since our partnership began in 2019, Basketball Ballarat have been phenomenal in supporting Hotondo Homes Ballarat to raise support and awareness for Make-A-Wish Foundation.”

“The partnership enables fundraising through proceeds of the City addition Jerseys which are fantastic and highlight our amazing town of Ballarat.  COVID-19 has made it a really difficult time for people and to have an association still willing to support others makes us feel extremely proud of the partnership that we have.”

“These jerseys not only represent the Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners and the Selkirk Ballarat Rush but everything that our town stands for, support, collaboration, and togetherness.” Willingham ended with.

Partnerships Manager for the Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners and Selkirk Ballarat Rush Andrew Day, was thrilled to work in collaboration with these organisations on this exciting initiative.

“We are proud as a club to continue being leaders in the community and showcase our wonderful city again this year.”

“By remaining genuine and promoting our wonderful city here in Ballarat, it’s been an enjoyable process working with Sovereign Hill and Hotondo Homes Ballarat in bringing this together,  just like in many ways the community has embraced our teams in what has been a challenging 18 months here at Basketball Ballarat.”

“For our teams we are looking forward to getting back on the courts soon, of course when it’s safe to do so and I also want to acknowledge the significant support of our loyal partners, members, supporters and volunteers for their continued commitment to our teams. We can’t wait to get through all these challenges and come out the other end stronger than ever.” Day ended with.
