Australian Boomers win gold in the FIBA Asia Cup

Seven NBL1 players were selected for the team two weeks ago, but the basketball world was impressed by the poise of Tyrese Proctor in the late stages of the game, as he made two clutch free-throws to help Australia win gold.
The 18-year-old is starring in NBL1 with Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence.
Two NBL1 players were selected for the FIBA Asia Cup 2022 All-Star Five, with Northside Wizards star Mitch McCarron (Australia) and Sandringham Sabres’ Tohi Smith-Milner (New Zealand) being selected as both were instrumental in their nation’s success.

Smith-Milner led the Tall Blacks to a bronze medal in the tournament.
