Selkirk Ballarat Rush player Alicia Froling will head to the nation’s capital at the conclusion of the NBL1 South Season after signing with the Canberra Capitals.

“I’m very excited to be playing in Canberra for the upcoming WNBL season and I’m looking forward to playing in a team with a championship culture and learning from some of the best players in this league such as Kelsey Griffin.” Froling said.

Froling will continue play a key part on the court for the Selkirk Ballarat Rush this year but since arriving prior to the 2020 Covid-19 effected season, the community has embraced Froling and she has become a fan favourite for the aspiring juniors.

"I love it here, everyone is so friendly. There's so much to happen and we don't know what the future holds, but if the opportunity was there for me to come back, I'd be keen." Froling said.

"I'll complete this season here, while it hasn't been set in stone exactly when the season will get underway, due to the way the world is at the moment, I think we'll get going with pre-season in September or October and then the season will get going after that." Froling said.

The Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners and Selkirk Ballarat Rush would like to congratulate Alicia on her signing with Canberra Capitals.
