The Southern Tigers beat the Norwood Flames 97-84 on Saturday night at The ARC Campbelltown.
The Tigers rode a powerful performance from Lem Ajith, who dominated with 28 points on efficient 69.2 percent shooting from the field. Ajith was a force inside, scoring 14 points in the paint while grabbing nine boards (four offensive). The Tigers' perimeter shooting proved decisive as they connected on 45.5 percent from outside compared to Norwood's 25 percent. Isaiah Oste-Pinder added 15 points off the bench, helping Southern build their lead to as many as 13 points.
For Norwood, Cooper Osborne led the way with 23 points despite struggling with efficiency, shooting just 43.7 percent from the field. Walter Mcbride added 19 points along with five assists and seven rebounds. The Flames couldn't capitalize from the charity stripe, hitting just 18-of-25 attempts, while their bench contributed only 11 points compared to the Tigers' 24.
