The Wolves get hot against the Rockingham Flames in a home game win at Van Kailis Court.
The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves took on the Rockingham Flames for a special Mental Health Round in the NBL1 West.
Neseya Parker-Williams made her return to the court for Saturday night’s matchup against the Rockingham Flames, contributing right out of the gates with her scoring, rebounding and competitive fire!
The score was even at 21 a-piece heading into the second quarter, however the Wolves kept turning up the heat with efficient scoring and tenacious rebounding. The Wolves outrebounded the Flames 55-33, led by the efforts of Teige Morrell who had 16 in the game.
Game MVP Robbi Ryan had a terrific game across all categories. 32 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists which included 2 steals and a block. Teige Morrell had a huge game with 20 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks on 77% shooting.
Emma Klasztorny continues to shine, scoring a season high 22 points on Saturday to go along with 9 rebounds. Point Guard Tia Ucich was seen dishing dimes to teammates inside the key and beyond the arc in spectacular fashion for a season high of 11! The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves won the game 102-82.
The Wolves make a strong push against the Flames after a slow start.
The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves got off to a poor start against the top placed Rockingham Flames, who hit a barrage of three pointers early to open a 15-point advantage heading into the second quarter.
The Wolves brought much more intensity to start the second after adjustments were made by Head Coach David Morrell and his coaching staff. The Wolves pushed the ball inside, got to the free throw line and made threes.
The Wolves continued to outscore the Flames into the third and were now the team firing from range. 5 total threes were made in the third quarter by Bryan Michaels, Quintin Dove, and Ioannis Dimakopoulos.
The third quarter was capped off by a huge half-court heave by Bryan Michaels which made the bottom of the net, the home crowd erupting with the game now 77-81.
The Rockingham Flames were too hot to handle in the fourth, hitting 6 total threes in just over 4 minutes of game time. The once 4-point gap quickly turned into 19 points with 3 minutes remaining. The Wolves lost 114-102 to end regulation.
