2023 NBL1 West Recap - Round 1 Joondalup Wolves v Rockingham Flames

The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves have arrived for 2023!

After a long off-season of hard work and preperation, the Wolfpack women set their eyes on the first opponents of the 2023 NBL1 West season, defeating the Rockingham Flames 87-77 at Mike Barnett Stadium.

Led by returning talent in Teige Morrell, Robbi Ryan and Neseya Parker Williams, the Pack set out to set the tone early,  Robbi wasted no time scoring a fast break layup within four seconds from the tip. 

Teige Morrell was a force on the boards early, securing four offensive rebounds in the first quarter of the game. Despite the efforts across the team member the Wolfpack women were still down one point at half time. 

Despite trailing throughout the game, the team had a resurgence in the 4th, led by a defensive focus to keep the Flames from securing rebounds. The Pack held Rockingham to just ten points in the 4th quarter, whilst the team put on a clinic on the other end of the floor. 

Three players in Neseya Parker Williams, Teige Morrell and MVP of the game Robbi Ryan finsihed with a double double performace, including 30 points showcase from Robbi and an efficient 9 for 13 shooting by Teige. 

Starting the season with a win in the books, we look forward to seeing the Wolfpack women continue their success this Thursday against the East Perth Eagles at HBF Arena!

The Wolfpack Men Face the Reigning National Champions:

The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves men set out to face reigning National Champions the Rockingham Flames as their first round opponents. Anticipation was high as both teams have made big moves during the off-season to acquire elite level local, and international talent.

Fan favourite CJ Turnage made an impact early on, securing both offensive and defensive rebounds to give the team an early push, assisted by the sharp shooting of Christian Jurlina.

Star import Quintin Dove impressed fans early with his offensive ability
