The Wolves take a trip up North to face the Geraldton Buccaneers

The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves men took a trip up north to face the Geraldton Buccaneers; a team who have won 8 of their last 9 contests.

The Wolves were hot out of the gates with a 15-4 run led with buckets inside the paint from Ioannis Dimakopoulos and CJ Turnage with a quick flurry of points by Mathiang Muo. Fighting back, the Buccaneers pushed the pace in transition and ended the quarter with a game-tying 3 by Aaron Ralph.

Geraldton continued the pace and broke out to a 16-point lead at half-time as the Wolves started to get into foul trouble. The ball wasn’t falling for the men in the second quarter, converting just 5 of 19 shots in that time.

The Wolves were able to hold the Buccaneers to a total 24 points with a strong, team-wide defensive effort as Bryan Michaels and Ioannis Dimakopoulos led the way offensively. The Wolves were able to even up the game a couple of times but were never in the lead in the final frame. The defence forced the Buccaneers to shoot just 5 of 30 from the field in the 2nd half. The Buccs were able to create a margin and were able to distance themselves from the Wolfpack by the final buzzer. The Wolves lost the game 67-74.

This Saturday the Wolves men and women take on the Rockingham Flames at HBF Arena! You can secure your tickets to the MUST-WATCH game at bit.ly/Wolvestickets
